About Us Earlswood Reproduction was started by the late Hugh Ticknor in 1995 and is based in Surrey, England. In the late eighties, Hugh has purchased a Tax Disc at an auction for his 1936 Velocette motorcycle. Paying around £50 for the Tax Disc he then tried to remove the overwritten details from his disc. Realising how disappointed he was with the final result he hit upon the idea of printing and selling reproduction Tax Discs. His background in the printing industry enabled him to quickly overcome all the difficulties that he would encounter with the printing. It then took him four years to persuade the HMSO and the DVLA ( UK Government departments ) that it would be in their financial interests to give the company a licence to reproduce Her Majesty's Tax Discs. He then went ahead to reproduce all of the Tax Discs from 1921, when they were first introduced, until 1974 in the finest detail. In addition to the Tax Discs, the company recently introduced authentic reproductions of the motorcycling safety posters from the 1950's Journey's End and Don't Do it! |
