About us
Earlswood was established in 1995 and is now based in the Cotswolds.
During the late 1980s, Earlswood’s founder, the late Hugh Ticknor, purchased a Tax disc at an auction for his 1936 Velocette motorcycle and having paid around £50, he then tried to personalise the overwritten details. Disappointed with the final result, the idea of printing and selling reproduction vintage and classic tax discs was born.
Having received a license from the HMSO and the DVLA during 1995, he commissioned the first batch of tax discs dating from 1921 (when they were first introduced) to 1992.
Over the years, Earlswood has supplied thousands of vintage and classic tax discs to countries around the world and our attention to detail with all our products is as obsessive today as it has always been.
In addition to vintage and classic tax discs, Earlswood also offers a range of high quality brass and bright nickel tax disc holders, authentic reproductions of the 1950’s motorcycling safety posters ‘Journey's End’ and ‘Don't Do it!’ and bespoke cufflinks based on our replica tax discs.
